Welcome from Dr. Richie
Welcome 9th Grade Families:
On behalf of the Lassiter High School Family, welcome to the 2020-21 school year! We hope you are enjoying your summer vacation and look forward to being a Trojan.
With a new year upon us, we are presented with new opportunities to positively impact the lives of your children. Our collective goal at Lassiter remains important - to ensure all our students are prepared to graduate and be college and/or career ready. The beginning of every school year brings a unique set of challenges and the 2020-21 school is no different. As an administrative team, we recognize that we were not able to welcome the class of 2024 in a meaningful way last spring. We also recognize that even in early July, we are unable to make firm commitments to our typical opening of school events such as “Go Day” and our “Freshman Orientation.” Our upperclassmen, our teachers, and our counselors always look forward to leading families on tours, answering questions, and doing everything they can in the spring to help students make the transition to Lassiter. Lassiter has a long history of not only excelling in academics, but also making sure students and families new to Lassiter are embraced by our school and community.
We want to welcome our class of 2024 with a new tradition. As we are getting close to the opening of school and the District begins to clarify what that will look like for the school year, we want our freshman class to have an opportunity to wear their first class t-shirt with pride as we finish out the summer. A flyer was sent out last week with the details. While the start of the 2020-21 school year may look and feel different, the one thing that remains that same is our constant commitment to do what is best for our students.
We will always be relentless in providing an exceptional instructional program that supports and encourages our students to be ready for the 21st century. We are committed to ensuring that student needs and interests help shape both our academic and extracurricular programs. It is through our shared commitment to learning that we are excited to welcome the class of 2024 to Lassiter. Encourage your child to show their school spirit by wearing their class shirt and be proud to be a part of Lassiter’s class of 2024! It’s truly an honor to welcome our new students and families and we look forward to having you as part of the Lassiter family.

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Georgia PTA cultural arts competition. The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Students submitted entries in one of six areas of the arts.
Congratulations to all the winners of the 2019 Reflections Program!!
Thanks to all students who submitted Reflections entries this year! We had some wonderful submissions and it was a tough to select the winners! Two students per grade have been selected for each category to compete at the County level. Winners who make it to the State level will be contacted directly. We will have a celebration breakfast for all participants coming soon. All students who submitted an entry are welcome to come and enjoy donuts and juice and pick up their work.
